Highlights from 64th Annual Session

 

 

The Rhode Island Dental Hygienists’ Association held its 64th Annual Meeting and Installation Luncheon on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the Sheraton Hotel in Warwick. The meeting was sponsored by Sonicare and 3M.

  Members elected 2009-2010 officers: Daiphin Bober, Immediate Past President, Maryellen Simas, President, Jennifer D’Elia, Vice President, Allison Barker, Secretary, Lori Freeman, Treasurer, Karla Masiello and Robin Williams, Pam Nelson, Trustees.  Installation was conducted by  Melissa Sullivan.  

The event also included a continuing education program entitled “Teenagers - What Their Mouths Are Telling You, But They Are Not” presented by Lee Somerville RDH,MS.  

This year’s scholarship award was presented to CCRI Dental Hygiene Student Caitlin Cronan, who was also chosen as Student Delegate for ADHA annual session this past June. Several 2009 CCRI and BCC Dental Hygiene graduates were also introduced and welcomed to the dental hygiene profession.

The RIDHA Presidential Membership Award was bestowed upon MaryAnne Barry, who so generously donated the awarded amount to the RIDHA Smile Train Fundraiser.
