To promote dental hygiene as a profession, the mission of RIDHA is to improve oral health as a part of the public's total health, to advance the art and science of dental hygiene by ensuring access to quality oral health care, promoting the highest standards of dental hygiene education, licensure, practice and research; and to represent and to promote the interests of dental hygiene in the State of Rhode Island
My name is Jessica Bessette, past RIDHA’s Vice President. I would like to say thank you for allowing me this great opportunity to serve Rhode Island’s Dental Hygiene Association as your newest President. I have truly been inspired by all the wonderful hygienists who have helped make RIDHA what it is today and what RIDHA will be in the future. As a new grad I knew after graduation RIDHA was going to be my destination knowing that I wanted to be a future leader in our great profession of dental hygiene. I have had the warmest welcome, not only learned about our Association, but I have gained a new dental hygiene family.
My goals as President is to be an outreach to our current student dental hygiene population, use new technology to reach out to our members, bring new and old members together in social events, I also hope as President to gain more leadership opportunities to make us a stronger community and association. I hope we can stand out in our community not only as hygienists, but as a brand and be recognized.
Dental hygiene is not just a profession to me it is my passion that I love so much, I truly hope and wish that I can work with each and everyone one of you, and truly listen to any ideas and to be that person who is there and listens to represent you!
