President’s Message

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome members and potential members to the RIDHA website. This website serves as a wonderful resource for all our members as well as all Dental Hygienists’ in the state of Rhode Island. It is important to keep updated on legislative issues that are happening in our state as well as continuing educational opportunities that we offer. I encourage you to visit this site frequently to view updates and changes as they occur. Our executive board puts a lot of time and efforts into making sure that we offer a wide selection of continuing education courses as well updating legislative information. RIDHA is here to support  and serve you so you may get the most out of your membership. I feel it is so very important for all members of RIDHA to stand up for your association and be proud that you are a member of a professional organization. I would like to encourage members to join a committee and be active in RIDHA. It is crucial that you keep current in your field of Dental Hygiene.

As a Dental Hygienist for the past 22 years and Dental Assistant for 10 years prior, I have had the opportunity to serve on various committees and panels. I have practiced clinical Dental Hygiene as well as serving as an adjunct Dental hygiene and Dental Assistant instructor and continue to do so. I have served as President of the Rhode Island Dental Assistant Association as well as Co scientific Dental Hygiene Chairperson for the Yankee Dental Planning Committee.

During the past year, as V.P. of RIDHA, I have developed and implemented a Student Mentor Program. I plan to continue this program for the benefits of our Dental Hygiene Students. I would like to encourage members to visit the mentor program site on our web page and to become a mentor. I think this is a wonderful way to give back to your field of Dental Hygiene by mentoring a student.

I feel that it is a privilege to serve as President of RIDHA during the coming year and wish to thank you for your support. As President I welcome your thoughts, concerns, and ideas. Please feel free to contact at any time.
