The Rhode Island Dental Hygienists’ Association held its 63rd Annual Meeting and Installation Luncheon on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Quonset O. Club.Members elected 2008-2009 officers: Daiphin Bober, President, Mary Ellen Simas, Vice President, Allison Barker, Secretary, Lori Freeman, Treasurer, Karla Masiello and Robin Williams, Trustees.Installation was conducted by outgoing Trustee Melissa Sullivan.
The event also included a continuing education program entitled “Straight Talk:Hygienists Role in Orthodontic Screening” presented by Dr. Nicholas Barone and Pam Nelson. This year’s scholarship award was presented to CCRI Dental Hygiene graduate Aubrey Mazza, and the RIDHA Presidential Membership Award to Allison Barker. Several 2008 CCRI Dental Hygiene graduates were also introduced and welcomed to the dentalhygiene profession.
